Chezley Miller is Stubbs player of the week No.4

The Hairoun Stubbs football competition player of the week (week 4) is Chezley “Chubby” Miller, a striker from Stubbs that plays for the team Stubborn Youths in this competition.{{more}}

Miller, who has three goals (a hat-trick from two games) started playing soccer at age nine with the team Stubborn Youth FC, a Stubbs team.

“I have participated in several junior and senior tournaments but one of the most memorable achievements for me was winning the award for most goals scored in one of the Sion Hill under 17 tournaments,” said Miller this week.

Miller who is now a BESCO Pastures player said that he has played for the senior men’s British Virgin Islands (BVI) soccer team when he lived in the BVI. He said that he wore BVI colors from 2004 to 2009.

His favorite international club is Chelsea and his favorite player is Fernando Torres who is a Spanish footballer.

“He is a boss at his game and he has tremendous skills,” said Miller of Torres.

The leagues organisers said that Miller was chosen as player of the week because of the hat-trick he scored in his second game against Axis Connection Choppins.

“He is a very hard working striker and also helps with defensive duties. The committee felt that he is a leader, always directing players and always gave 100 per cent to his team. He is very disciplined on the field. South East Development Inc congratulate Chezley and wish him all the best in his football career.”

Hairoun, the main sponsor of the Stubbs football competition which started four weeks ago decided to every week, reward a player of the week.

Other players rewarded include Attius Enville of Ball Rollers and Leslo McKenzie of GTM Calliaqua.
