United Survivors redeemed… Garifuna Stars crash

United Survivors redeemed themselves following their loss to Garifuna Stars the previous Saturday, by trouncing Northern Girls Combined last Saturday in the RBTT women’s 40-over competition at the Buccament Bay Playing Field.{{more}}

Northern Girls Combined were dismissed for 63 in 17.5 overs, with Clea Hoyte bracing 6 for 10. United Survivors responded with 65 for 2 off 8.2 overs. Shavorne Clarke struck 22 and Kimone Homer, 21 not-out.

But at the Arnos Vale Two Playing Field, Garifuna Stars were helped down from their ascendancy by JG Tigress, who inflicted a four-wicket defeat on them.

Garifuna Stars’ middle order failed to give its top order the support and finished on 114 for 9 in 22 overs.

Juliana Nero compiled 40 and Nyasha Williams, with another good score, contributed 32.

La Toya Providence was the pick of the Tigress bowling as she snapped up 4 for 20 and Rochelle John had 3 for 22.

Stacy Ann Adams guided JG Tigress’ response with 54 not out. In her innings she lashed six fours to see Tigress to 116 for 6 in 22.3 overs.

Nyasha Williams was the main wicket taker for Garifuna Stars, taking 3 for 28.(RT)
