SVGS, TSSS take National Teams Championships’ titles

The St Vincent Grammar School and the Thomas Saunders Secondary were declared male and female champion respectively, when the results were tabulated following last Saturday’s National Teams Championships in track and field, staged at the Arnos Vale Playing Field.{{more}}

Grammar School tallied 101 points, ahead of the West St George Secondary, which ended a distant second with 53 points.

Docking in third was the Central Leeward Secondary with 50 points.

The three other teams which contested the event were the Thomas Saunders Secondary – 39 points; St Martin’s Secondary – 28 points and Bequia Community High School – 6 points.

In the female segment, Thomas Saunders compiled 81 points, leaving West St George Secondary to drop to second with 62 points.

The other competitor was the Central Leeward Secondary, who put together 51 points.

Last Saturday’s teams championships will be followed by more action this Saturday at the same venue, when the heats of the National Club Championships will take place.

This Saturday’s heats pave the way for the finals, set for Saturday, May 24, also at the Arnos Vale One Playing Field. (RT)
