Special Olympics to host coaches’ training workshop this Saturday
Special Olympic St Vincent and the Grenadines (SOSVG) will host a coachesâ training workshop this Saturday, May 17, from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. at the National Sports Council conference room, Arnos Vale.{{more}}
The training is designed to equip coaches and prospective coaches with the necessary tools, techniques and certification needed to ensure that athletes benefit from comprehensive sports training and preparation for multilevel sports.
Protective Behaviours, Coaches and Athletes Conduct and Responsibilities and Unified Sports will be the areas of focus during this Saturdayâs training exercise.
The coaches attending will have the feed from Bill Hauser, who is a Special Olympics volunteer with 25 years of experience under his belt.
Hauser has served on the management team for Special Olympics New Hampshire Fall, Summer and Winter Games.
Additionally, he served as SONH head of delegation for the 2003 World Games in Ireland; has assisted in establishing the volleyball programme for SONH; and was assistant coach for the programme as well.
Hauserâs reservoir of involvement in sports saw him coach the youth basketball programme at YMCA in Concord, New Hampshire.
Hauser was a member of the Concord National Little League Board of Directors for 10 years and a multi-year coach in the Concord Babe Ruth Baseball League.(RT)
