This, despite playing unbeaten in the four-team tournament.

St Vincent and the Grenadines was placed in a must win scenario last Sunday night versus the likewise unbeaten St Lucia. On the other hand, St Lucia needed only a draw to take the top spot. But reports say that the Vincentians were guilty of squandering several goal scoring opportunities.

Following a 0-0 draw versus Grenada last Wednesday in the opening fixture, St Vincent and the Grenadines beat Dominica 3-2 on Friday.

A goal in the first minute by Kevin Francis, followed by strikes by Oalex Anderson in the 15th and 27th minutes, accounted for the Vincentian’s final tally.

Dominica’s items came in the 24th minute from Matthew Walsh and in the 35th minute, through Chris Lawrence.

St Lucia, by virtue of wins over Dominica (2-0) and Grenada (1-0), took the title.

Galon Neptune and Eden Charles were on the score sheet for the St Lucians when they met the host, while Gerlane Neptune netted the lone goal that downed the 2013 champion – Grenada.

Grenada ended in the third position after a 5-3 dumping of Dominica, which left the host without a win and pointless.

St Lucian Zaccheus Polius was voted as the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.

When the tournament was revived in 2013 and hosted by St Vincent and the Grenadines, the host ended last in the three team set-up, as Dominica had aborted their trip, because of fatal vehicular accident that took the lives of the team’s coach and a player.(RT)
