In running away with the double last year for his school, the Bishop’s College Kingstown, Boyde took the 100m and 200m. He stopped the clock at 11.28 seconds in the 100m and went on to cream the field in the 200m in 22. 22 seconds.

Boyde enters Thursday’s race as favourite, having recorded 10.91 seconds in the 100m in the preliminaries and 21.94 seconds in the 200m.

He and the other half of identical twins Rebeurth, were one and two in the male intermediate division of the 100m in 2012, and repeated the feat in 2013, when they moved up to the senior category.

However, this time around Rebeurth will not be part of his brother’s anticipated reply, as he is now a student at the St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College.

Reberto, though, has another opportunity to leave a lasting impression on the local secondary schools’ premier sporting extravaganza, when he touches the track on Thursday.

He was named Team Athletics SVG’s 2013 Junior Male Athlete of the Year and went on to cop the Junior Sportsman of the Year at the 2013 National Sports Awards, both held in February of this year.
