Adams, Durrant reach ‘high five’

Cammie Adams and Peter Durrant, last Sunday afternoon, made it five wins in succession in their respective categories of the 2014 St Vincent and the Grenadines Cycling Union’s race programme.{{more}}

Adams pocketed the 12-mile, three-lap road race between Peruvian Vale and Argyle in 39 minutes 5.97 seconds.

Snapping at his rear wheel was Peter Durrant, in 40 minutes 48 seconds, as he took charge of the Over-40 category.

The 2013 Cyclist of the Year Zefal Bailey finished third overall and second in the Under-40 segment, behind Adams, in 41 minutes 52 seconds.

Placing fourth overall and third in the Under-40 was Lucky Antrobus, whose time was 42 minutes 26.01 seconds, while Deptor Culzac was fifth overall and fourth in the Under-40 in 42 minutes 36.27 seconds.

Completing the Under-40 placing were Randy Wilkinson – fifth; Curtis Lewis – sixth, David Thomas – seventh and Desmond Cox – eighth.

Orel George was sixth overall in 42 minutes 45.96 seconds and was second in the Over-40s, with Steve Ollivierre clocking 43 minutes 48.81 seconds, to be third in the Over-40 and the eighth to complete the course.

The other Over-40 cyclists who crossed the finish line were Martin Bollers and Cedric Mc Intyre.

All 13 competitors finished the race.(RT)
