Zarnesha Myle ahead of her competitors


Zarnesha Myle, the 2013 female Under-14 individual champion at the Inter Primary School, is once again the red-hot favourite to retain the title.{{more}}

The Du Bois Primary School student is showing form in 2014 at the various mini-meets and championships put on by Team Athletics SVG.

Myle, with 32 points, copped the female Under-15 title at the National Juvenile Championships held last month.

In addition, Myle has recorded better times than athletes her senior.

At the Juvenile Championships, Myle recorded a time of 13.79 seconds in the 100m; she also timed 28.01 seconds in the 200m and 16.37 seconds in the 80m hurdles.

Myle clocked three minutes 44.09 seconds in the 1000m and reached her best height of 1. 25 metres in the high jump.

Groomed as one for the future, Myle took the first places in the 150 m and the 300m and was second in the 80m at the 2013 Inter Primary School Championships. Then, she recorded 25 individual points.

And, in a rare achievement, her brother Curtron was the male Under-14 champion and the Victor Ludorum.

Zarnesha’s 2013 performances earned her a spot on the St Vincent and the Grenadines team to the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Juvenile Championships in Curacao.

Apart from track and field, Zarnesha is also an ardent footballer, attached to the Campdonia/ Chelsea youth programme. (RT)
