Four Vincentians in Windwards cricket team

Four of this country’s national cricketers left the state this week to join the other Windward Islands players, to take part in the first round of the West Indies Regional First Class season, which begins today.{{more}}

 Left-arm fast bowlers Delorn Johnson and Kenroy Peters are expected to lead the bowling attack, while 2013 West Indies First Class season top wicketkeeper Lindon James should be standing at the wicket. SVG Cricket Association’s all-rounder of the year Alston Bobb will be competing for a place in the starting line-up.

 Windward Islands will battle defending four-day champion and newly crowned Caribbean Super50 champion Barbados at St Lucia’s Beausejour Ground, in a Day-Night four-day game starting from 3 p.m. local time today. The Windwards are coached by former West Indies fast bowler, Vincentian Ian Allen.

 The SVG Cricket Association this year will be hosting one Regional First Class match, which is confirmed for the 4th – 7th April at the Arnos Vale main playing field. This match will be between Windward Islands and Combined Campuses and Colleges.
