Cammie Adams, Peter Durrant go four straight

Cyclists Cammie Adams and Peter Durrant are on a flight path that has seen them winning their fourth successive road race for 2014, as the calendar of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cycling Union rides on.{{more}}

Win number four for both Adams and Durrant, came last Sunday, when they topped their respective categories in the 46-mile event from Kingstown to Georgetown and back to the finish line at the Sion Hill Intersection.

Adams left the field behind him as he clocked two hours, 15 minutes, 10 seconds.

Such was his dominance, second place Zefal Bailey was a distant second in two hours, 22 minutes, 24 seconds.

Third overall was Peter Durrant as he held on to his veteran category again. The chirpy Durrant completed the event in two hours, 25 minutes, 38 seconds, while fourth placed Deptor Culzac’s time was two hours, 35 minutes, 33 seconds. Culzac was third in the open segment.

Lucky Antrobus trailed Culzac by a mere second, as he timed two hours, 35 minutes, 34 seconds.

Others to complete the race were Orel George, Steve Ollivierre and Martin Bollers in the veterans’ category, with Curtis Lewis and Desmond Cox finishing in the open segment.

George was sixth overall and second among the veterans cyclists in two hours, 36 minutes, 32 seconds; Olliverre was seventh to finish and was third in his age group in two hours, 45 minutes, 57 seconds.

Lewis docked in eighth and was fifth in the open segment with his time of two hours, 49 minutes, 47 seconds.

Meanwhile, Bollers claimed the fourth place in the veterans ‘category and was ninth to cross the finish line in a time of three hours, 3 minutes, 52 seconds.

And, Cox was the tenth cyclist to reach the summit at Sion Hill in three hours, 11 minutes, 32 seconds, which put him sixth in the open category. (RT)
