Topsidaz, System 3 take Barrouallie Football titles

Loyal Bank Topsidaz secured the Western Union senior division and System 3, the Norell Hull Under-17 division of the 2013 Barrouallie Football League.{{more}}

The two were placed on their thrones last Sunday afternoon when the finals were staged at the Keartons Playing Field.

Topsidaz romped to a 4-2 win over the potent Youngster FC, while System 3 got past Adare One from kicks at the penalty spot, after both teams had played to a 1-1 tie in regulation time.

Former national player Markniel Lewis and current national representatives Romano Snagg and Nazir Mc Burnette, as well as a Reginald Richardson own goal, saw Topsidaz lashing in four answered goals.

Youngsters, however, made a late surge which saw Chavel Cunningham scoring twice in two minutes. But it was a little too late, as Topsidaz had deposited enough in their account.

In reaching the final, Topsidaz had toppled the 2012 winners System 3, one-nil, compliments a Dorren Hamlett strike.

Meanwhile, goals from Oalex Anderson and Myron Samuel secured a two-nil victory for Youngsters FC, who defeated Predators to get a shot at the title.

In the Under-17 championship System 3’s goal in regulation time was netted by Kewon Clarke, while Derron Rouse found the back of the net for Adare One. System 3 went on to win 3-1 from kicks from the penalty spot.

The presentation ceremony will take place at a later date. (RT)
