Cato joins hat-trick parade in National T/20 Cricket Competition

LIME Radcliffe’s Dyke Cato became the third bowler in as many weeks to take a hat trick in the National Lotteries Authority Neil Williams T- 20 Cricket Competition.{{more}}

Cato joined Nigel Small of Victors Two and Donwell Hector of Victors One.

But unlike Small and Hector, who attained theirs at the Arnos Vale One Playing Field, Cato achieved his at the Park Hill Playing Field.

Cato, an off spinner, grabbed 4 for 7, to send Smashers to 77 for 8 from 14 overs. Westrick Strough chipped in with 2 for 20. Cuthbert Spring top scored for Smashers with 24. Radcliffe replied with 83 for 3 in 8. 3 overs; Andrew Thomas compiled 43 not out. Anthony Charles picked up 2 for 18 for Smashers.

LIME Radcliffe also overcame Ishallz Byam’s Physical Therapy at Buccament on Saturday.

LIME Radcliffe made 150 for 5 in 20 overs; Rodney Lawrence hit 57 and Lindon James 49.

Roneil Laborde had 2 for 13, and Courtney Joyette 2 for 36, bowling Ishallz Byam’s Physical Therapy who could only make 55 all out in 12.3 overs. Javed Harry hit 22 for the losers, as Wesrick Strough snared 5 for 12 and Rodney Lawrence 4 for 8.

But Ishallz Byam’s Physical Therapy rebounded at the same venue to upstage Victors One by 10 wickets.

The potent Victors One was shot out for 90 in 15.3 overs; Courtney Joyette bagged 4 for 20; Roneil Laborde 2 for 19 and Donald Delpeche 2 for 9.

Openers – Roneil Laborde 54 not out, Leshawn Lewis 28 not out, piloted Ishallz Byam’s Physical Therapy to 94 without loss in 14. 5 overs.

At Arnos Vale One, also on Saturday, Carl Joseph Law Chambers ASCO added to Smashers’ woes, as they were defeated by 10 wickets.

Smashers scored 107 for 9 in 20 overs, with Kesworth Lewis making 28 and Ozico Williams 24.

Andre Hunte had 4 for 14, and Desron Maloney – 2 for 14, bowling for ASCO, who reached 108 without loss.

The opening pair of Desron Maloney – 52 not out and Darron Greaves 50 not out, guided their team to the convincing win.

Also chalking up a victory was the News Spartans who detained Police One by eight wickets at Park Hill, as Saturday saw full action.

Police One scored 118 all out in 19.3 overs; Randy Yorke – 38.

Kentish Bascombe was Spartans’ most successful bowler, with 2 for 23.

Dawnley Joseph – 45 and Gidron Pope – 38, saw Spartans to 119 for 2 from 17. 3 overs.

And, at Park Hill, in a double header, Guardian General Saints beat Radcliffe Too by three runs.

Saints scored 132 for 8 off 20 overs; Kenroy Peters hit 45 and Rolando Wright 32. Kamon Green snapped up 3 for 21.

Radcliffe Too’s response stopped at 129 for 9 off 20 overs; Shawn Browne – 35, Antonio Barker – 34, Kensley Joseph – 32, all contributed with the bat but they still fell short.

Kenroy Peters led from the front with 4 for 17, bowling for Saints.

The other scheduled match saw Triumph United Cricket Club and Police Two sharing the points, as their match at Buccament was rained out. (RT)
