Hector takes hat trick to lead Victors One over ASCO

Donwell Hector became the second bowler in as many weeks to claim a hat trick in the National Lotteries Authority Neil Williams Twenty/20 Cricket Competition, following Nigel Small’s feat for Victors Two the previous week.{{more}}

And, the Arnos Vale One Playing Field was once again the venue for the achievement.

Hector, known more for his batting ability, grabbed 3 for 5, to send Carl Joseph Law Chambers ASCO packing for 117 all out from 17.4 overs.

Lending support to Hector was Nickie Antoine, who took 2 for 18, as ASCO went in pursuit of 156.

Desron Maloney, with 51, was ASCO’s lead batsman.

Victors One’s total of 155 for 5 in 18 overs, was built on Atticus Browne’s 74 and Miles Bascombe’s 49.

Bowling for ASCO, Andre Hunte took 2 for 26 and Darius Martin 2 for 32.

At Park Hill also on Saturday, Triumph United Cricket Club, following their stunning dismantling of Saints a week earlier, went on to stop Victors Two by 7 runs.

Triumph United Cricket Club scored 114 for 8 off 17 overs. Roland Wilkinson had 3 for 17 and Joel O’ Garro 2 for 22, bowling for Victors Two, who replied with 107 for 9 from their 17 overs.

Roland Wilkinson, 49, and Kenny Stapleton, 27, could not take their team over the line, as Nigel Small snapped up 3 for 10 and Vangel Small 2 for 23.

Victors Two, however, rebounded on Sunday at Arnos Vale One, downing Police Two by four wickets.

Police Two scored 130 for 6 off 20 overs, propelled by Danson Andrews who stroked 71.

Bowling for Victors Two, Adinal Richards had 2 for 12 and Joel O’Garro 2 for 19.

In reply, Victors Two reached 131 for 6, made in 17.2 overs; Roland Wilkinson, 43, was supported by Denson Hoyte, who hit 35.

Melvin Jack was the most successful bowler for Police Two, with 3 for 18.

And, Team Rivals continued their march as title contenders with a four wicket triumph over Guardian General Saints at Arnos Vale One.

Saints rallied to 104 for 7 in 20 overs; Kenroy Peters led from in front with 33.

Olanzo Jackson, 2 for 14, and Deighton Butler, 2 for 31, starred with the ball for Rivals, who coasted to 105 for 6 from 19 overs. Casmond Walters had 21 and Asif Hooper 20. Ray Charles had 2 for 16 and Kenroy Peters 2 for 17, as Saints suffered another straight defeat.(RT)
