Football General Meeting set for November 2

The long awaited General Meeting of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation (SVGFF) will take place Saturday, November 2, at the Federation’s office at Bentinck Square, beginning at 10 a.m.{{more}}

This was disclosed by general secretary of the SVGFF Trevor Huggins at a recent function of the national football body.

Originally set for October 2012, the meeting had been deferred to a date to be announced, as the executive of the SVGFF had claimed then that the auditors needed more time to verify the accounts.

November’s meeting will the first face-to-face meeting of the Venold Coombs led executive with affiliates, to update them on the executive’s stewardship, since taking office in September, 2011.

The affiliates met with the executive of the SVGFF in January 2012, but this was to complete the slate of positions on the executive – the positions of committee members.

There has been much public discussion about the delay in convening the meeting; however, these discussions have been hot and cold. It is expected that at the November meeting Coombs will dispel many of the rumours that are circulating about the audited statements and that the other reports will satisfy the affiliates’ concerns.(RT)
