Masters Cricket Competition moving forward
There were wins for St Vincent Co-operative Bank Pâtani, Computec Belfongo, RSVG Police and Catoâs Heavy Equipment Glamorgan, as the SVG Masters T- 20 Cricket Competition had another Sunday of matches.{{more}}
At Park Hill, Pâtani defeated Kirk Da Silvaâs La Croix by 92 runs. Pâtani, on the back of Isaac Haywoodâs 68, and Cassius Welcomeâs 56, reached 170 for 3 from their 20 overs. La Croix was restricted to 78 for 8 from their 20 overs; Elmondo Shoy hit 26. Adolphus Campbell – 3 for 8 and Elvis Woods – 3 for 9, bowled Pâtani to their comfortable win. At Buccament, Belfongo stopped Arnos Vale by 21 runs.
Junior Bacchus hit 33 and Elton Williams 27, in Belfongoâs total of 126 for 7. James George was Arnos Valeâs top bowler, taking 4 for 28; however, their batsmen could only make 105 for 8 from the maximum 20 overs. Daniel Mc Millan took 3 for 16 and Junior Bacchus, 2 for 31, bowling for Belfongo.
Also at Buccament, RSVG Police posted 156 for 5 off 20 overs against Sion Hill. Gosnel Cupid struck 56; Allan John, 37 not out and Jeffrey Laborde, 33 in the law officersâ total. Gary Rodriguez took 2 for 36, bowling for Sion Hill. In reply, Sion Hill reached 77 for 8 from 18.2 overs; Elvis Browne had 2 for 8 and Parnel Browne, 2 for 19, as Police won by 79 runs.
And at the Paget Farm Playing Field in Bequia, Glamorgan upstaged the host by 31 runs. Glamorgan posted 196 for 4 from their 20 overs. Samuel Richards compiled 73 and Augustus Mofford- 52, not out. Bequiaâs response saw them scoring 165 for 7 from their allotted 20 overs. Goram Williams was the top scorer with 57 and Ellis Lavia chipped in with 28. Bowling for Glamorgan, Godfrey Brewster took 3 for 20. (RT)
