Tucker, a left-handed opening batsman, compiled 291 runs from five innings.

Playing for Winterset Ball Beaters, Tucker made 79 versus Rising Stars, hit 37 against the RSVG Police, as well as 29, when his team met Sharpes United.

Tucker also notched up 39 versus Peto Stars, but his big one was the 107 made against the 2012 winners, Ajuba of Spring Village.

Tucker was one of four centurions, with the others being Casmond Walters of Ajuba; Orlando Charles of Somerset and Kenny Stapleton of Ajuba.

Walters amassed 277 runs.

Spurred by his recent success, Tucker told SEARCHLIGHT that he will be seeking to spread his wings when he plays for Victors Two in the first division of the national cricket competition.

Tucker noted that this year marked a renewed energy and interest for him in the sport. He said that previously, he played for North Leeward in the national Under-15 and Under-19 competitions, but never went further.

Meanwhile, La Borde’s 15-wicket tally saw him topping the heap of bowlers who were in contention. A medium pacer for Peto Stars, La Borde also came good with the bat, as he totalled 212 runs.

The 2013 competition, for the first time, saw the Player of the Match for each game receiving a cash award of $100. In addition to that, they will each receive a plaque when the North Leeward Sports Association hosts its presentation ceremony at a time and venue to be announced.(RT)
