Ray Jordan earns West Indies Under-19 selection

Vincentian fast bowler Ray Jordan has earned a call-up to the West Indies Under-19 cricket team, which will face Bangladesh in seven one-day matches, set for Guyana in October.{{more}}

The matches are carded for the Guyana National Stadium, Bourda and Everest on October 7, 9, 11, 14, 16, 19 and 21.

Jordan, who plays for Victors One in the premier division of the local cricket competitions here in St Vincent and the Grenadines, is reported to have bowled with fire at the 2013 West Indies Under-19 competition in St Kitts in July/August.

Jordan is joined by fellow Windward Island players – Preston Mc Sween of Grenada and Taryck Gabriel of St Lucia.

Mc Sween took the most wickets in the 50-over version of the regional tournament.

The rest of the team shows six Jamaicans – Fabian Allen, Brandon King, Ramaal Lewis, Leroy Lug, Tristan Coleman and Marquino Mindley.

Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Gudakesh Moti-Kanhai and Shimron Hetmyre, are the Guyanese selected.

Barbadians — Jofra Archer and Jerome Jones; Antiguan and Leeward Islands player-Alzarri Joseph, as well as Bryan Charles and Jeremy Solozano complete the 17-member squad.(RT)
