Curtains come down on 2013 Canouan Premier League Softball Cricket Competition

This season of the Canouan Premier League T20 Softball Cricket Competition came to an end on Sunday, September 1, after two months of exciting games.{{more}}

The final game saw Glasgow Construction Upsetters come up against Smashers, with Glasgow, who were undefeated throughout the entire tournament, coming out on top.

Glasgow, for the first time, lost a toss and Smashers decided to bat. After 4.4 overs, Smashers were bowled out for 38 runs, with Adolph Adams topping the bowling with 10 for 4 off 3.4 overs. Stein Joseph picked up two wickets, with Marlon Scrubb taking three wickets and Kenneth Lewis, one wicket. Glasgow were then asked to bat. In reply, their opening batsmen were equal to the task, devouring Smashers and coming out victorious. They scored the 39 runs needed to win in just 2.2 overs. Stein Joseph hit 30 out of 39 runs, with 3 sixes and 2 fours.

Adolph Adams captured 17, the most wickets of the tournament, with a best of 10 for 4. Stein Joseph made the most runs and also grabbed the title of Most Valuable Player of the entire tournament, with 601 runs — three 50’s and two 100s, with an average of 66.7.
