The two dozen young players were selected from a batch of over fifty who attended a one-week camp at the Arnos Vale Playing Field from August 19 to 23.

Making the final cut are Fanjay Stapleton, Shamar Conliffe, Rondre John, Azar Williams, Kareem Mofford, Jahziel Walters, Terrill Thomas, Andell Roban, Kyon Lewis, Orlanzo James, Romando Mar, Coby Da Breo, Constantine, Deandra Glasgow, Jannilea Glasgow, Zachary Alexander, Miles Barnaby, Irvine Warrican Jr., Joel Quashie, Jesse Durrant and Renaldo Richards.

Coaches: Ian Allen, Uzzah Pope, Bertram Stapleton and Cleton Burnette, were responsible for the final selection, after observing them during the five days of the camp.

Meanwhile, coordinator of the Scotia Bank Kiddy Cricket programme Stanley Hinds expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the camp, noting that several players were exposed to specialized coaching, which also involved theoretical sessions.

Additionally, Hinds said for all of the participants, it was an opportunity they will all relish as they got to play on the Arnos Vale One Playing Field pitch — an outing which many seasoned cricketers never realized.

Hinds said he and his coaches have done their part, and it is now the duty to the personnel in the Grassroots’ set-up, to embellish the talent which is being presented to them. (RT)
