Ruddy’s Electrical/Starlight to ignite North Leeward T-20 Cricket finals

Ruddy’s Electrical and Carlos James Starlight are set to provide the power when the final of the Vinlec North Leeward T/20 Cricket Competition lights up this Sunday, September 8, from 12: 30 p.m. at the Petit Bordel Playing Field.{{more}}

Both recorded comfortable wins last Sunday at the same venue in their semi-final match-ups.

Ruddy’s Electrical defeated Heritage Tours Peto Stars by 92 runs.

Batting first, Ruddy’s Electrical posted 209 for 8 off 20 overs; Norlan Williams struck 42 not out; Leon Samuel 41, Ian Allen 33 and Bertram Stapleton 25.

In reply, Peto Stars were dismissed for 117 off 15.1 overs.

McNeil Morgan was the pick of Ruddy’s Electrical bowling, with 4 for 17, as he and Norlan Williams shared the Man of the Match award.

And, Starlight overcame Somerset by 9 wickets.

Taking first strike, Somerset made 85 all out off 18.4 overs; Orlando Charles hit 31.

Kentish John grabbed 4 for 14, bowling for Starlight, who then responded with 89 for 1 off 9.4 overs.

Leshawn Lewis led the way with 52. Kentish John was adjudged Man of the Match.

On Saturday, the last of the quarter-finals was contested.

Winterset Ball Beaters scored 111 all out off 15.2 overs. Omar Tucker topscored with 39.

Nigel Small snared 4 for 11. Heritage Tours Peto Stars replied with 114 for 1 off 12.2 overs. Rongel Small was74 not out and Nigel Small 22 not out.

But Peto Stars were unable to get past Ruddy’s Electrical in the semi-finals. (RT)
