Amarlia and Gabrielle Benn of St Vincent and the Grenadines defeated the Guyanese pair of Afruica Gentle and Jamaali Homer in a brutal three-setter.

The Boys and Girls 14s, played at the Grassroots Centre, saw the Guyanese pair bouncing back to edge past their opponents in the second set 7-5 after losing the first 2-6.

However, the Vincentian girls refused to give up, coming back time and time again, frustrating their opponents with consistent ball movement on the court, persevering to win the third set, the match and the Girls 14 Doubles title, 13-11.

Earlier, Afruica Gentle had defeated Amarlia Benn in the Girls 14 Singles final 6-1, 6-1, in a match she dominated not just with power, but an improved mental attitude on court.

Meanwhile the pair of Ukpioronfo Ikolo of Grenada and Cordell Williams jr of Antigua, took the Boys 14 Doubles title when they defeated the St Lucian pair of Adriel Bousquet and Jean-Philippe Murray 6-3, 6-2 in the 14 Main Draw final.

Ukpioronfo Ikolo of Grenada had earlier defeated Cordell Williams Jr of Antigua 6-3, 6-2 in the Boys 14 Singles final; like Afruica Gentle, making it double delight with two titles.

In the Consolation Girls Singles 14 final, Jamaali Homer of Guyana defeated Shania Williams of St Vincent and the Grenadines 4-1, 2-4, 4-1, while Richard Hoyte of St Vincent and the Grenadines won over Danyel Angus of Trinidad and Tobago 0-4, 4-0, 5-3. (Robertson S. Henry/robertsons.henry@gmail.com)
