Last weekend’s event included an opening ceremony, the March Past of teams and an exhibition match.

Addressing the teams and spectators were Nelson Hillocks, director of Physical Education and Sports; Frederick Stephenson, Area Representative; Cecil Charles, manager of the National Sports Council; Rosita Snagg, president of SEDI; Venold Coombs, president of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation and Noel Dickson, the featured speaker.

Seven teams turned up for the march past; however, only six of the seven had the number of players required to constitute a team.

Adjudicators came up with Carapan Football Club as the best dressed team.

The exhibition match resulted in South Leeward League team hammering a SEDI Select team 7-1.

A hat trick from Tevin Slater and one goal each from Gregson Delpleche, Nazir Mc Burnette, Kenton Ollivierre and Lenford Chance gave South Leeward’s tally.

The lone goal for SEDI Select team was netted by Lezlo McKenzie.

Calliaqua United won the 2012 competition.
