Imperial march on in BCL T/20

Vincentian outfit Imperial is on to the next round of the knock-out T/20 competition in the 2013 Brooklyn Cricket League (BCL); this, after they defeated Pak Stallions and St Catherine, last weekend.{{more}}

Imperial’s first step towards winning started on Saturday, when they cruised past St Catherine at Marine Park D.

Taking first strike, St Catherine was dismissed for 96 in 19 overs.

Telston Payne 30 and Mervin Hermes 25, made the only two creditable scores for St Catherine.

Bowling for Imperial, Dennis Green took 4 for 14; Orlando Mofford and Shaddy Khan 2 for 28.

Imperial replied with 97 for 1 in 9 overs. Hyron Shallow 49 not out and Merlon Johnson 43 not out.

On Sunday at Marine Park C, Imperial ousted Pak Stallions.

Imperial posted 175 for 5 from their allotted 20 overs; Dennis Green – 43, Hyron Shallow – 40 and Merlon Johnson – 38 were the top contributors to the score.

Pak Stallions were sent packing for 104 all out in 19 overs. Zahib Tariq topscored with 39.

Shaddy Khan grabbed 4 for 19 and Dennis Green- 2 for 13.

On Saturday, there was an all–Vincy clash as Middlesex engaged Queensbury.

Middlesex, electing to bat scored 172 for 5. Donwell Hector cracked 54, including 6 fours and 2 sixes; Mark Audain scored 45, which was dotted with 6 fours and a six and Rod Michael made 25.

Bowling for Queensbury, Marcus Bethel took 2 for 31.

Queensbury in response were 116 all out from 19 overs. Andy Douglas hit 35, in which he blasted 2 fours and 3 sixes. Marcus Bethel contributed 25.

Bowling for Middlesex, Denva Passley grabbed 3 for 9 and Treldon Mc Milan 3 for 28.

Meanwhile, the play-offs of the regular season will take place on Sunday.

At Marine Park A, Middlesex plays St Catherine, with an all – Vincy happening at Marine Park B, when Imperial face Cavaliers.

At Marine Park C, Panthers face Diplomats and at Seaview, Sheffield take on Pak Stallion. (RT)
