Bentick captures BCQS Trinidad Open Masters title

The year 2013 is proving to be a great year for National Squash coach James Bentick, as he captured yet another squash title.{{more}}

Bentick added the BCQS Trinidad Open Masters (35-44) Title by defeating Ray LaCroix of Trinidad, 3-0 – (11-3, 11-8,11-3); Rhea Khan of Trinidad, 3-0 – (11-8, 11-5, 11-5); Tony McKenzie, 3-0 (11-9,11-5,11-6), to book his place in the semi-finals. He dismissed Don Benn of Barbados, 3-0 – (11-6, 11-5, 11-7), to set up the final against Trinidadian Paul Deverteuil. When it was all over Bentick emerged champion, dropping the first set 9-11, but recovering to take the other three 11-9, 11-8,11-5.

Bentick has captured four titles in the last four months. He is the National Over-40 champion, OECS Over-40 champion and he captured the BCQS Barbados Open Masters (35-44) title by defeating former Barbados national champion Andy Gill 3-0 – (11-8, 11-9, 11-5).

National and OECS Over-50 champion Keith Boyea also competed in this Championship and finished in 8th position.

Next stop for Bentick and Boyea is the Senior Caribbean Area Squash Association Championships 2013, scheduled for Guyana from August 10 to 18. Travelling to Guyana as part of the OECS Team will be Jules Snagg, Kevin Hannaway, Kevin Bailey, Jason Doyle, Eshwan Adams and Sherian Slater.
