Myers-Spencer cops female b-ball MVP

Avi-ann Myers-Spencer received the top award in the female division of the National Lotteries Authority national basketball championships, which concluded last Sunday night at the New Montrose basketball facility.{{more}}

Myers-Spencer, who captained second placed outfit – Trotman’s Electronics Celebrity, claimed the Most Valuable Player award, as she had the most rebounds – 35, and recorded and the most three-pointers – 2.

She also had 11 steals, 2 blocks and registered 99 points, to add the Most Valuable Player for her team to her take-home accolades on the night.

Among those who were in the shadows of Myers-Spencer was Gailene Gordon of champion team, XPert Computer Bustas. Gordon scored the most points and had the most steals. She also secured her team’s Most Valuable Player title.

Gordon was adjudged the Most Valuable Player in the final.

The other awardee in the division was Delonie Sam of Inter Secondary Schools, who had the most blocked shots – 8 .

The other Most Valuable Players were Kaylene Thompson – Calliaqua United; Vasha Adams – Maple and Shantal Rouse – Inter Secondary Schools.(RT)
