Last Saturday morning, the four teams were part of the march past, which took place from Utica Avenue to Lincoln Terrace, the tournament’s venue, as part of the opening ceremony.

This, the 17th edition of the tournament, was declared open by president of the USA Netball Association Sarah Watson.

The opening event heard remarks from president of CANA Patrick Heron, along with council member Darlene Mealy and Senator Kevin Parker.

Saturday’s ceremony saw the presentation of awards and trophies won during the 2012 season.

Among the awardees was Islanders Sport Club which copped the intermediate division, as well as the knockout, and placed third in the uniform parade.(RT)
