En route to the title, Cane End triumphed over last year’s winner, the Richland Park Government, during the preliminary stages. The Richland Park Government is also located in the Marriaqua Valley.

Facing Du Bois Government in the championship match, Cane End posted a challenging 199, then restricted Du Bois to 178, to put broad smiles on their faces.

Romando Mars of the champion school was adjudged the best batter, with Jahiel Walters of third-placed Belair Government being voted the best bowler.

Capping off the individual awards was Cameron Lewis of the Pamelus Burke Primary, who was named as the best fielder on the day.

Belair Government received the award for the most improved school and the Owia Government, the most disciplined team.

From the practical sessions, 60 players have been selected to be part of a one-week camp, set for the August vacation.

Next up for the schools is the Scotia Bank Kiddy Cricket quiz competition.(RT)
