Dovers Electrical Services demolish Combined Forces with tournament low of 19 off 5.3 overs

Dovers Electrical Services had a comprehensive 10-wicket win over Combined Forces when action in the third annual Dovers Electrical Services East Kingstown Sports Association Softball Cricket Competition continued last weekend at the Grammar School Playing Field.{{more}}

Batting first, Combined Forces were dismissed for a tournament low of 19 off 5.3 overs. Jevorn Nero grabbed 3 for 5 and Peter Richards 3 for 11. In reply, Dover Electrical raced to their victory target of 21 off 1.3 overs. The other match scheduled for Saturday, Nice Radio Clinchers versus Smashers, was abandoned because of heavy rain.

In one of two matches played on Sunday, General Hardware Richmond Hill United beat Smashers by 75 runs. Batting first, General Hardware Richmond Hill United reached 107 for 8 off their allotment of 20 overs. Depter Culzac slammed 36; Johnny Trimmingham made 21 not out. Raydon Bentick took 3 for 24 and Curbert Springer 2 for 19, bowling for Smashers. In reply, Smashers were dismissed for 31 off 10.1 overs. Chavis Trimmingham bagged 5 for 12, bowling for General Hardware Richmond Hill United.

In the feature match on Sunday, Dr Thomas Injectors had a 6-wicket win over Rivals. Batting first, Rivals reached 83 for 9 off their 20 overs. Sundry was the top scorer with 28. Tex Franklyn, 3 for 15, and Ronick Daniel, 2 for 27, were amongst the wickets takers for Dr Thomas Injectors. In reply, Dr Thomas Injectors reached their victory target with 83 for 4 off 15.5 overs. Kesron Ashton made 20 not out.

Fixtures for the upcoming weekend are: Saturday from 12:30 p.m., Attackers 1 and Customs will meet, and then from 3:30 p.m. Nice Radio Clinchers and Bank Of SVG All Stars will square off. On Sunday from 12:30 p.m., Dr Thomas Injectors and Combined Forces will do battle. then, in the feature game from 3 p.m., Attackers 1 and Rivals will compete. All Matches are being played at the Grammar School Playing Field.
