RSVG Police reinforced in Clinchers T-20

RSVG Police called out the heavy artillery to snuff out all competition, when action continued last weekend in the St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Co-operative Credit Union Clinchers T- 20 softball competition at the Richland Park Oval.{{more}}

On Saturday, RSVG Police defeated Calder United by 66 runs, after they had put up 136 in 14.4 overs, with Salvan Browne getting a top score of 57, consisting of 5 fours and 6 sixes.Rolando Wright added 28.

Kevin Toby took 5 for 36 for Calder United, who were then dismissed for 70 in 17 overs, with Roderick John taking 4 for 19.

The keepers of the peace returned on Sunday, to register their second win of the weekend by beating Rapids by 23 runs in a 15/15 affair.

RSVG Police, batting first, got to 136 for 9 in 15 overs, then restricted Rapids to 113 for 9 in their allotment of 15 overs, with Kendol Buntyn leading the batting with 40 as Mc Cleon Williams took 3 for 26.

In Saturday’s other match, Fyah One beat Resergents by eight runs after batting first, and getting to 128 for 9 from 20 overs. Israel Baptiste top scored with 39. Aliston John led the bowling with 3 for 34.

Resergents fell just short being dismissed for 120 in 18 overs, with Naffique Maloney hitting 59 with eight sixes and two fours. Rajiv Roberts was the top bowler for Fyah One, with 3 for 19 from 4 overs.

Meanwhile, defending champions, Country Meet Town Outa Trouble trounced Richland Park Melody Makers by eight wickets. Batting first Richland Park Melody Makers made 60 from 16 overs with Brandon Charles’ 27 being the top score. Amread Bobb and Mickel Mapp took 3 wickets each.

Out Ah Trouble then responded with 63 for 2 with Sunil Ambris hitting 41 not out.

In the weekend’s final match, Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem stopped Glen United by seven wickets, after they had restricted their opponents to 76 for 8 from 20 overs. Kennford Collins took 4 for 19.

Nar Fren Dem responded with 77 for 4. Ceon Phillips hammered 53 not out, made up of 6 sixes and a pair of fours.

Winston Bascombe took 3 for 20, in a losing cause for Glen United.
