Outa Trouble remaining defiant in Clinchers Softball Cricket

Defending champion Outa Trouble joined Fully Loaded Ballerz, Gairy Construction Simple Boyz and Rapids in the winners’ column in weekend matches in the St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Co-operative Credit Union Clinchers T20 Softball Cricket Competition at the Richland Park Playing Field.{{more}}

In the second match on Sunday’s fixture, Outa Trouble defeated Fya One by six wickets.

Fya One was all out for 62 in 15 overs, with Nigel John taking 5 for 25 off his four overs. Outa Trouble replied with 64 for 6 in 8.2 overs.

The day before, on Saturday, Fully Loaded Ballerz defeated Richland Park Melody Makers by four wickets. Batting first, Richland Park Melody Makers made 68 in 15 overs, with Nick James 20, Syneel Paul 3 for 8. Fully Loaded Ballerz got to 69 for 6 in eight overs, with St Claire Dasent making 25 and Ethano Trimmingham taking 3 for 24.

In the other match on Saturday, Gairy Construction Simple Boyz beat La Croix United by 44 runs. Gairy Construction Simple Boyz made 118 in 18 overs with Xavique Alexander getting a top score of 29.

La Croix was then dismissed for 74 in the 17th over with St Claire Dixon grabbing 4 for 12.

On Sunday, Rapids easily disposed of Calder United by 109 runs.

Rapids, behind a hard hitting 61, which included nine sixes from Keiron Cottoy, raced to 159 for 8 in 20 overs.

Quetnel Cottoy chipped in with 39 as William Nanton took 4 for 35 from four overs. Calder United was then dismissed for 50 in the 11th over, with Nickie Antoine finishing with 5 for 18 including a hattrick. Quetnel Cottoy took 3 for 17.

And, Gairy Construction Simple Boyz recorded their second victory of the weekend when they edged Young Strikers by one run in a nail-biting affair.

Scores: Simple Boyz 86 in 16.5 overs, Young Strikers 85 in 19.4 overs.
