Interest heightens in Spring Village Softball Cricket competition

VINLEC, Circumstances and Seventh Day Adventist, all won matches in the COL Mobil/DMG Furniture Spring Village 16 overs a side Softball Cricket Championship at the Spring Village Playing Field at the weekend.{{more}}

VINLEC defeated Rose Bank by five wickets. Rose Bank compiled 99 off 13.5 overs; Selwyn Westfield scored 26.

Bowling for VINLEC, John Williams had figures of 3 for 27.

VINLEC had some batting voltage of their own, as they charged 100 for 5 off 12.2 overs; John Williams completed a good all-round performance with 24. Calroy Francois took 2 for 9, bowling for Rose Bank.

Also, Circumstances defeated ECWI Lions by 10 wickets.

ECWI Lions could only make 46 off 11.4 overs; Clemore Millington hit 37.

Kenneth Samuel grabbed 2 for 24, bowling for Circumstances, who then reached 47 without loss off two overs; Uroy Edwards cracked a whirlwind 42. Edwards was severe on Carlson Williams’ bowling, hitting his second over for six sixes.

And, Seventh Day Adventist also had no mercy on ECWI Lions, humbling them by 46 runs.

Seventh Day Adventist 137 off 16 overs; Calroy Ferdinand struck 40. Colin Francis grabbed 2 for 22, bowling for the Lions.

The Lions’ toothless reply ended at 92 off 15.2 overs. Calson Williams top scored with 44.

Jimmy Charles, 3 for 24 and Pastor Ian Williams, 2 for 5, ensured that Seventh Day Adventist finished on a winning note.(RT)
