Glen United overcome Police in Bagga T-20

Glen United took down the powerful RSVG Police last Saturday afternoon at Keartons Playing Field, as the Bagga T-20 Softball Cricket competition intensified.{{more}}

Police struggled to 81 for 9 from their 20 overs — Renrick Cato hit a top score of 19.

Kerwyn Browne took 2 for 4, bowling for Glen United, who responded manfully with 82 for 2. Casmond Walters — 32 and Desron Maloney — 28 not out, ensured their team’s 8-wicket win.

Renford Jack helped himself to 2 for 15, despite the loss.

Former champions of the competition, RSVG Police were attempting back to back wins, as they had earlier in the day given a lesson to Youngsters FC in that form of the sport.

RSVG Police had mixed results in back to back matches of the 2013 Bagga T-20 Softball Cricket Competition on Saturday.

Police batted first and made 151 all out, with Trevor Bailey hitting 27.

But it was Randolph Mason’s 4 for 13, including a hat trick, which was the highlight of the first half of the match.

Youngsters, in their turn at the crease, were dismissed for 78 in 15. 3 overs, to lose by 73 runs.

Andy Griffith hit 27. Renford Jack was the pick of the Police bowling, with 4 for 16.

On Sunday, Keartons United rebounded to defeat Tuff Mouth, by 39 runs.

Keartons batted first and were shot out for 82 in 17.4 overs. Julian Lampkin crashed 38. Bowling for Tuff Mouth, Franklyn Browne grabbed 4 for 16.

In reply, Tuff Mouth tumbled for 43 in 11 overs. Cuthbert Ashton snared 3 for 5 and Kerwin Corke — 3 for 9.

And, Hillview won by default over Reversionites, who failed to show for their match. (RT)
