On the local plate will be the usual throws classics, the hurdles, jumps classics, the national relay classics, the national championships, the inter-financial sports, the Kids in Athletics series, the 13-15 team competition, along with several mini meets at various venues across St Vincent.

St Vincent and the Grenadines will once again host the international road relay classic, which will run off the competitive and much supported road-racing calendar.

Also part of the 2013 programme is SVG’s intentions to participate in several regional and international meets.

Among them is the 2013 Junior Carifta Games, set for the Bahamas from April 1-3.

SVG did not participate in the 2012 games in Bermuda.

Also on the itinerary for SVG’s representation at the regional level are the Barbados Relay Fair in February, the Central American and Caribbean Age group championships in Curacao in May, the St Kitts National Championships, the OECS Invitational and the Trinidad and Tobago National Championships — all scheduled for June.

Likewise, SVG should be represented at the 7th Caribbean scholastic invitational in Carolina, Puerto Rico, from May 30 to June 1.

There should also be Vincentian participation in the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) senior championships at the Haseley Crawford Stadium in Trinidad and Tobago in July.

On the international scene, SVG is set to be part of the 8th IAAF world youth championships in Ukraine in July, as well as the Pan American Juniors in Lima, Peru and the 14th IAAF Outdoor Championship in Moscow, Russia, both in August.

The annual awards and recognition ceremony will round up TASVG’s calendar. (RT)
