Running for the title are number one seed, Grant Connell and Onike Spann, who are stashed in Group 1. Also making up that group are Nicotello Providence and Stephen Goodluck; Calvin Grant and Kevin Mathurin and number four seed, Imani King and Oileen Guy.

Group 2 is headed by number two seed Trevor Sam and veteran player Michael Nanton and which also comprises number three duo Khir Huggins and Kevin Huggins.

Completing Group 2 are the pairs of Agostini Soleyn and Michael Layne and Earl Mc Kie and St Clair Robinson.

Head of the GTC Grant Connell, at yesterday’s handing over of the sponsorship cheque, expressed gratitude to Beacon Insurance for assisting the club.

He specially thanked Keith Boyea of Beacon Insurance for his thoughtfulness in aiding tennis, and specifically the GTC, in its efforts to make sure the sport is kept alive in St Vincent and the Grenadines.

The Beacon doubles tournament climaxes Friday.

The doubles tournament follows swiftly on the Karib Cable mixed doubles tournament, which ended last Wednesday, and preludes the SVG General Services Junior Christmas tournament, which serves off Saturday at the GTC courts. (RT)
