The two major titles in the Digicel Aeropost Breakaway masters La Fern Millington firms and industrial invitational football competition have been determined.{{more}}

Prime Minister’s Office held on to the Knockout title when they saw off Ministry of Transport and Works 3-1, on penalties, in last Wednesday’s final at the Grammar School Playing Field.

Both teams had played to a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

It was Ministry of Transport and Works’ fourth consecutive defeat in finals of the competition.

In the inaugural competition last year, Transport and Works reached the finals of the Soccerama, the League and the Knockout, but lost on all occasions.

Also last Friday, Prime Minister’s Office defeated competition favourite Ministry of Education, 4-2, to take the third place in the League competition.

A goal each from Junior Da Silva,Juma Gilkes, Zeron Murray, and Kevern Samuel earned Prime Minister’s Office the third place.

Jomo Douglas and Nicoli Williams responded for the Ministry of Education, which reached the semi-finals of both the League and Knockout, but were stopped by Coreas Hazells Inc and the Ministry of Transport and Works, respectively.

Last Saturday, the surprise package in the competition, Digicel, overcame Coreas Hazells Inc 3-1 on penalties to capture the League title.

Both teams had played to a stalemate in regulation time, and extra time could not break the deadlock.

Prime Minister’s Office and Digicel will contest the champion of champions this Saturday at the Grammar School Playing Field.

This will be followed by the presentation and closing ceremony. (RT)
