Teams solidifying their positions in TBPO softball competition
ASCO, Simple Boys, Bank of SVG All Stars and Nex Level, were all in winnersââ¬â¢ row last weekend in the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organisation competition at the Dauphine Playing Field.{{more}}
On Saturday, ASCO triumphed over Bangers by four runs.
ASCO made 112 all out in 12.4 overs, with Deran Bute striking 35 and Damian Chance 22.
Bowling for Bangers, Raymond Sayers took 2 for 32.
In response, Bangers reached 98 for 8 off their reduced allotment of 15 overs. Raymond Sayers top scored with 28 not out, as Sheldon Nanton with 3 for 16 and Osborne Franklyn 2 for 14 shared the bowling honours for ASCO.
Also on Saturday, Garyââ¬â¢s Construction Simple Boys defused Gomea Bombers by 140 runs.
Simple Boys rattled up 199 for 5 in 20 overs. Stein Joseph 92, Desron Maloney 42 and Elric Morris 39 were the principal scorers.
Gomea could only reach 59 for 8 in 14. 3 overs, as Desron Maloney snared 4 for 29.
On Sunday, Bank of SVG All Stars outplayed Macââ¬â¢s Little Saints by 34 runs.
All Stars posted 174 for 9 from their 20 overs, led by 81 from Glenroy Dasent.
Bowling for the Little Saints, Amos Clarke snapped up 4 for 14; Sheldon Strough 2 for 33 and Jamal Alexander had 2 for 45.
Little Saints were dismissed for 140 in their run chase, despite Jason Jacksonââ¬â¢s 63 and Rolson Nantonââ¬â¢s 32.
Newbornn Joseph, with 2 for 14, and Andrew Little, 2 for 24, were the bowling spotlights for All Stars.
Sundayââ¬â¢s other scheduled match resulted in easy points for Nex Level, as defending champions RSVG Police failed to show up. (RT)
