Rain limits T/20 action

Play in the National Lotteries Authority Twenty/20 softball cricket competition was limited to two matches on Saturday at the Dauphine Playing Field.{{more}}

First up, Bank of SVG all Stars overcame Gomea Bombers by 43 runs.

Bank of SVG all Stars batted first and racked up 130 for 6 in 18 overs.

Desmond Blucher led the way with 72 runs, not out. Bowling for Gomea Bombers, Kendall Payne had 2 for 44.

Gomea Bombers’ response saw then reaching 87 all out in 17.2 overs.

Bernard Bushay was the top scorer with 17, as Earl Pope took 3 for 7 and Glenroy Dasent 3 for 14.

And, Saturday’s other match resulted in ASCO recording a 2-wicket triumph over Warriors.

Taking first strike, Warriors made 109 for 6 from their 20 overs. Desroy Lavia hit a topscore of 21.

Damien Chance — 2 for 2, Javon Nero — 2 for 12, and Osbourne Franklyn — 2 for 24, were the main wicket takers for ASCO.

Kevin Jessop struck 35 to lead ASCO’s reply of 110 for 8 in 15 overs.

Desroy Lavia, with 4 for 21, and Zeron Murray, 3 for 30, were the top bowlers for Warriors.

The three matches scheduled for Sunday were rained out. (RT)
