Charles, who was installed on September 10, told SEARCHLIGHT on Sunday that he expects the job to be challenging.

“I expect the job to be a challenging one, but I am really enthusiastic about it”, Charles said.

When asked, he however did not say what he thinks would be the major challenges.

Charles said he has met with the administrative staff of the council and the other top persons in supervisory positions and the other members of staff.

He said he cannot do it alone and is banking on his support staff to help him.

On his first assignment in his capacity, at the opening of the 2012 Bank of St Vincent and the Grenadines Barrouallie Football League at the Keartons Playing Field on Sunday, Charles implored the Barrouallie Sports Association to continue to work with the National Sports Council.

Charles made the kick-off to officially commence the league.

Charles, a former principal of the Thomas Saunders Secondary School, who was last attached to the Curriculum Unit in the Ministry of Education, has taken over from Osborne Browne, who held the post for about 11 years.

Browne is on pre-retirement leave. (RT)
