The brief ceremony took place during the half-time segment of the feature match, between the reigning senior division of the invitational community/inter-league champions, Barrouallie and a North Leeward outfit.

Receiving the Most Runs trophy was RSVG Police’s Trevor Bailey, who totalled 140.

Copping the prize for the Most Wickets was Godfrey Derrick of Surprizers, who snared 15 wickets in all.

The Player of the Final was Surprizers’ Roy Richards.

In the final, Surprizers had dethroned RSVG Police in a thrilling one-over eliminator, after both teams had tied their scores in their 20 overs.

Surprizers earned $1,200 and the winners’ trophy, with RSVG Police claiming $700 and the runner-up trophy.

The competition ended in May and president of Barrouallie Sports Association (BSA) Lorson Lewis, told SEARCHLIGHT that organisers wanted to twin the presentation ceremony with another of their major sporting event.

Lewis said the group had considered holding the ceremony at the commencement of the netball competition, two weekends ago, but it was moved to Sunday to complement the football opening. (RT)
