Rising Stars takes the pie

Rising stars of Rose Hall and Troumaca were crowned champions of the Senior and Under-15 Divisions, respectively, in the 2012 St Vincent Brewery small goal football tournament.{{more}}

The competition ended on Sunday at the Rose Hall Playing Field.

Rising Stars earned the title when they defeated Predator FC on penalties in sudden death after a goalless 90 minutes.

In the Under-15 Division, Troumaca stopped Fonando Forces of Rose Hall 2-nil, with late goals by Casroy Miller and Javert Louie in the 89th and 90th minutes, respectively.

Winston Samuel of Rising Stars was the leading goal scorer in the senior division with his four strikes.

Predators’ Keynell Bowens was the most valuable player in that division.

Julian Prince of Fonando Stars was the top goal scorer in the Under-15 division.

He scored four goals.

Fonando Forces’ Delanzo Williams copped the Most Valuable Under-15 Player award.
