East Kingstown Sports Association softball cricket competition heads into final stage

A new champion will be crowned in the Dover Electrical Service East Kingstown Sports Association softball cricket competition.{{more}}

In quarterfinal action on Saturday, Kings United had a convincing 59-run win over Lowmans Hill Warriors.

Batting first, Kings United were bowled out for 77, off 18.1 overs. Rohan Ash top scored with 24. Bowling for Lowmans Hill Warriors, Omanti Robinson took 3 for 7, Kyron Parris 2 for 5, Leroy Duncan 2 for 8 and David Fairban 2 for 23.

In reply, Lowmans Hill Warriors were dismissed for a tournament low of 18, off 8.4 overs.

Justin Lee grabbed 3 for 7 and Isaac Trimmingham 2 for 4.

All Stars were also in winning row, beating Attackers 2 by 24 runs.

Batting first, All Stars reached 103 for 7, off their 20 overs.

Desmond Blucher top scored with 28. Jevorn Seales — 3 for 16, Korwin Browne — 2 for 11 and Doran Dallaway — 2 for 23, were amongst the wicket takers for Attackers 2.

In reply, Attackers 2 were dismissed for 79 off 19.5 overs. Eddie Peters — 4 for 12, Nyron De- Souza — 2 for 6, Desmond Blucher — 2 for 13 and Glenroy Dasent — 2 for 17 got the bulk of the wickets for All Stars.

In the other quarter-final, Rillan Hill had a hard-fought 5-wicket win over Dovers Electrical Service, with 4 balls remaining.

Batting first, Dover Electrical Services were dismissed for 104, off 19.3 overs. Emmanuel Baptiste made 21 and Junior London, 19.

Bowling for Rillan Hill Warriors, Leon Quashie grabbed 4 for 4; he was supported by Obead Mc Coy — 3 for 21 and Shorn O’ Garro — 2 for 10. Rillan Hill Warriors reached 105 for 5, off 19.2 overs.

Renwick Quashie top scored with 29 and Ronald Quashie was 22 not out.

In semi-final action,

Attackers 1 booked a spot in the final, after beating All Stars by 7 wickets.

Batting first, All Stars reached 61 for 5 off their allotment of 20 overs. Kenny Stapleton made 29. Bowling for Attackers 1 Floyd Hull took 2 for 23. In reply Attackers 1 reached their victory target 62 with the loss of 3 wickets. Kentish Phillips top scored with 25, not out.

Rillan Hill Warriors also booked a spot in the final, after beating defending champion Kings United by 3 wickets.

Batting first, Kings United reached 94 for 5, off their 20 overs. Elroy Cumberbatch top scored with 24 and Rohan Ash, 23. Rawl Stapleton took 3 for 23, bowling for Rillan Hill Warriors.

In reply, Rillan Hill Warriors reached their target of 95, losing 7 wickets.

Lorenzo Degrads made 29.

Bowling for Kings United, Justin Lee took 2 for 16 and Depter Culzac, 2 for 32.

The final is scheduled for September 23.
