King hits century in North Leeward T/20

Verbert King struck 102 last Saturday for Somerset, which propped them up 233 for 6 off their 20 overs, as the Vinlec North Leeward T/20 Cricket competition continued at the Petit Bordel Playing Field.{{more}}

King, who has been in good form thus far, was assisted by William Edwards who scored 63. Bowling for Sharps United, Kerry Isaacs took 4 for 57.

Sharps United responded with 188 for 8 off 20 overs, Marvin Cato and Mekel Bowens both scored 35 and Kesroy Granderson hit 32, as Somerset won by 45 runs.

Somerset, in back to back matches, then took out Future Legends by seven wickets. Future Legends took first strike and made 124 all out, off 18.3 overs; Dyke Cato was the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 16.

Somerset replied with 126 for 3 off 12.4 overs; Verbert King scored 56 not out.

Future Legends returned on Sunday morning and the case was similar, as they were undone by Ruddy’s Electrical by six wickets.

Batting first, Future Legends scored 104 all out off 16.1 overs. Rudolph Daize was the pick of Ruddy’s Electrical bowling, as he grabbed 4 for 5 and Augustin Bentick had 3 for 23.

Ruddy’s Electrical reached 105 for 4 off 13.2 overs; Christopher Campbell topscored with 32.

Stanley Browne Ajuba then overturned Ruddy’s Electrical by nine wickets. Ruddy’s Electrical got to 159 for 7, off their 20 overs; Leon Samuel led the way with 53. Bowling for Ajuba, Kesrick Williams took 3 for 20.

Ajuba responded with 163 for 1 off 13 overs. Kenny Stapleton cracked 90 not out.
