Coombs revokes Lowe’s appointment

President of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation has revoked the appointment of one of his committee members, Guy Lowe.{{more}}

Coombs communicated this to Lowe by a letter dated August 24, but which was hand delivered on the evening of Wednesday, August 29.

Coombs, in the letter, told Lowe that his performance had been reviewed and following a meeting of both of them, “… I am going to, and will appoint someone else”.

The letter further stated: “As such your position on the executive committee has become vacant with immediate effect.”

Coombs, however, told Lowe in the letter that he could still avail himself to contribute in other aspects of the development of football in St Vincent and the Grenadines.

SEARCHLIGHT was reliably informed that Lowe will be replaced by Donald Thomas, who has served on previous executives.

Lowe and Dominique Stowe were Coombs’ immediate choices as committee members, following the election of a new executive of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation, which took place on Saturday, September 24, 2011.

Lowe, a former national player, was instrumental in rallying support for Coombs in the run-up to the last year’s elections, which Coombs won comfortably.

Coombs came up against Michael John and Patrick Horne, in a three-way presidential race.(RT)
