St Vincent and the Grenadinesâ (SVG) senior football team, Vincy Heat, will face off with their Barbadians counterparts, the Bajan Rockets, in two friendly international matches this Saturday and Sunday at Victoria Park.{{more}}
Both matches are set for 7 p.m.
Sundayâs match will be preceded by the commencement of the National Lotteries Authority National Club Championships.
An official opening ceremony is slated for 3 p.m., followed by a championship match.
The national club championships has five divisions: Premiere, First Division, Under-17, Under-13 and a Womenâs Division.
SVG and Barbados are preparing for this yearâs Digicel Caribbean Cup.
The Cornelius Huggins coached Vincentian team is in Group C with Guyana, Curacao and host St Lucia.
This group is set to kick off next weekend, but will clash with the CONCACAF Zone of the World Cup qualifiers, which also involves Guyana.
Barbados hosts Group E, which also includes Aruba, Dominica and Suriname, later in September.
The winners of each of the six groups, along with the three best second places, head directly to the second round.
In the second phase, Grenada, Cuba and Guadeloupe have automatic berths.
The two top teams from the three groups advance to the final phase, to be held in Antigua and Barbuda in December.
The top four teams then go forth to the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2013.
Somerset would play back to back matches this Saturday. Firstly, they meet Sharps United from 11 a.m., then from 2 p.m. Future Legends.
On Sunday from 10 a.m., Ruddyâs Electrical faces Future Legends and from 2 p.m., Ruddyâs Electrical takes on Ajuba.(RT)
