New record set in NL T/20

St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) senior team T/20 left arm orthodox bowler, Rolando Wright, has set a new bowling mark in the Vinlec North Leeward T/20 Cricket Competition.{{more}}

Playing at the Petit Bordel playing field last Saturday, Wright grabbed 8 for 11, to send Backlash packing for 24 all out in just 6 overs.

Backlash was responding to RSVG Police 163 for 4 off 13 overs. The overs were reduced because of rain.

Parnel Browne scored 43 and Rolando Wright, showing his good all-round ability, hit 37, not out.

In back-to-back encounters, RSVG Police defeated Winterset Ball Beaters by 4 wickets.

Winterset Ball Beaters were dismissed for 88 off 17.2 overs. Afram Byam topscored with 31, as Gerald Gould took 4 for 15; Rolando Wright got 2 for 3 and Silam Spencer, 2 for 36

Police replied with 90 for 6 off 12.1 overs. Elmore Alexander was 29 not out; Jamal Nash, 3 for 21; and Kenrick Westfield, 2 for 22.

Somerset defeated Carlos James Troumaca Starlight by five runs. Somerset 118 were all out off 17.5 overs, Christopher Howe made 42, Donald Delpesche 3 for 6, Zemron Providence 3 for 36.

Troumaca Starlight fell short, as they made 114 off 19.2 overs. Kentish John hit 23 not out.

Troumaca Starlight then took revenge, as they defeated Ruddy’s Electrical by five wickets. Ruddy’s Electrical made 93 off 14 overs: Andre Hunte 22, not out; Kentish John, 3 for 11; and Zemron Providence, 3 for 30.

Troumaca Starlight were 97 for 5 off 12.5 overs. Leshawn Lewis scored 33. Ruddy Daize took 4 for 6, bowling for Ruddy’s Electrical. .

On Saturday, from 1 p.m., Valley Boys meet Bank of SVG All Stars, to be followed by ASCO and Shot Callers from 3 p.m.

On Sunday from 9 : 30 a.m., Clinchers clash with Bangers. Gomea Bombers return to the fold, facing Sunset Strikers from 12: 30 p.m. and Simple Boyz and Glen United engage each other from 3 p.m.
