“I think this has set the stage for better times at the schools’ sports,” he told SEARCHLIGHT.

“We did a lot of work on the track, on the stairs of the pavilion, in the gym and on the beach nearby and I think the athletes are at a level of alertness now”, Ollivierre stated.

He, however, expressed his disappointment that of the six coaches who were asked to be part of the camp, only he and Rawlson Morgan showed up.

Despite this, Ollivierre said he would endeavour to have other such undertakings whenever the schools are on vacation.

The camp culminated with a series of relays, the 4 X 100 and 4 X 200m, in the various age groups.

Athletes from various schools across St Vincent and the Grenadines, as well as children who are of Vincentian parents, and were here on holidays, participated in the camp.

Mariah Howard, who is based in New York, USA, was named the camp’s most outstanding athlete. (RT)
