Peters recorded the most wickets in tournament, nine, and also received a trophy for this feat.

He also latched on to the Player of the Final award, for his 3 for 11, in the title match against Dominica last Sunday night, as St Vincent and the Grenadines successfully defended 98, dismissing Dominica for 76.

Peters’ three wickets came as he bowled at the death, when Dominica was still in with a chance of triumphing with four wickets in hand.

He gained an additional trophy, as he was named Player of the Match, when St Vincent and the Grenadines defeated St Lucia in the preliminary round. In that match, Peters took 3 for 21.

Another individual award that came St Vincent and the Grenadines’ way was grasped by Alston Bobb, who was the most economical bowler. Bobb’s 16 overs went at a cost of 47 runs.

Bobb also captured seven wickets.

The two other Player of the Match awards that were presented to Vincentians went to the team’s leader, Lindon James, for his 37 versus Grenada and Atticus Browne, who made 31 versus Dominica, when the two teams met in the preliminary round last Saturday afternoon.

St Vincent and the Grenadines played unbeaten in the tournament, an achievement which delighted James, who told SEARCHLIGHT last Monday morning on the team’s arrival, “It is a great feeling; it was a total team effort, from the manager to the coach down and I am really impressed and pleased with our performance.”

Grenada’s Devon Smith scored the most runs, 136, and St Lucian Mervin Wells secured the award for the batsman with the best strike rate.(RT)
