Cato, Johnson bowl over Police One

The spin and pace combination of off spinner Dyke Cato and left arm pacer Dellorn Johnson were too much for Police One, as they had match hauls of ten and nine wickets respectively, to lead Ola Boutique Radcliffe to a nine-wicket win over Police One.{{more}}

Their performance came in one of two matches played in the National Lotteries Authority Premier Division of the national competition.

Johnson, on the horizon of a West Indies senior team call up, snared 5 for 13 and Cato had 5 for 32. They ripped through Police One’s batting, dismissing them for 50.

Radcliffe in response made 130 for 8 declared. Lindon James struck 55. Bowling for Police one, Rohan Holder took 3 for 25 and Sylvan Spencer 3 for 49.

Asked to follow on, Police One scored 125 all out. Parnel Browne knocked 48 and Sylvan Spencer 37 not out. Cato scalped 5 for 65, to finish with 10 for 97 and Johnson pulped 4 for 52, ending with match figures of 9 for 65.

Rodney Lawrence hit 22 not out, as Radcliffe reached the 46 required for maximum points, for the lost of two wickets.

At Arnos Vale Two, Mc Leon Williams topscored with 60, as Police Two declared their first innings at 163 for 9.

Andre Hunte, with 4 for 29 and Travis Cumberbatch 4 for 64, were the lead bowlers for ASCO, who in reply were dismissed for 111, to fall short by 52 runs. ASCO’s top batsman, Desron Maloney hit 50.

Elmore Alexander was the pick of Police Two’s bowling, as he grabbed 5 for 37.

Police Two was 51 for 1 at the close of play.(RT)
