Carrying the GTC banner for the first time are Shannia Williams, Richard Hoyte, Kamara Williams and Antonio Caine.

They were, last Friday, presented with new rackets and gear bags, compliments the GTC, as a reward for their rise in the sport, having started from scratch just over two years ago.

The quartet, all from Byera Hill, is a product of the initial outreach of the GTC in February 2010.

They will compete in the Under-14 category of the ITF championships.

Also last Friday, 10 of the participants who attended the summer camp were selected to attend the three-week swim camp held by Black Sands Swim Club.

They are Shimron Horne, Akeem Neptune, Amelia Hutchinson, Jiar Patrick, Seyon Hadaway, Zane Davis, Ozaria Browne, Daryl Dopwell, Kyle Dasilva, and Ria Robinson.

The GTC will finance their participation.

Also, at the closing ceremony last Friday, Jankie Glass of Karib Cable donated books to six of the participants and the GTC recognised Glass for her continued support of the club. (RT)
