Saints takes first innings points from Police One

Saints rebounded from their first innings loss against Victors One to gain first innings points over Police One in their drawn Premier Division match of the National Lotteries Authority National Cricket Competition at Arnos Vale One last weekend.{{more}}

It was the lone Premier match played, as the competition resumed following a weekend break for the national Carnival celebrations.

Police One took first strike and posted 129; Randy Yorke struck the topscore of 43.

West Indies Under-19 selectee Sunil Ambris grabbed 3 for 32, as he gave up the gloves and turned bowler. Captain Kenroy Peters had 3 for 33.

Saints, in their only innings, made 216 for 6 declared. Kenroy Peters, showing his all-round ability, banged 67 and Imran John contributed 49.

Bowling for Police One, Renford Jack picked up 2 for 35 and Wendell Corridon had 2 for 47.

Batting a second time, Police One closed at 112 for 8. Bertillon Davis scored 30 and Athwell John 27.

Kenroy Peters, completing an outstanding match, snared 4 for 40; Sunil Ambris, before he was set to jet off to Australia with the regional side for the ICC Youth World Cup, hauled in 2 for 16 and former USA Under-19 player, Vincentian Dominic Audain, who plays for Middlesex in the Brooklyn Cricket League, accounted for two wickets, at the cost of 25 runs.

The other Premier Division match which should have featured Rivals and Police Two was postponed. (RT)
